Bond…James Bond.

When you’re talking movies and cocktails, nobody looms larger than James Bond. His affinity for a good drink is one of his key characteristics. The character almost single-handedly killed the market for cocktail stirrers when he demanded to have his vodka martini “shaken and not stirred.”

From the suave Sean Connery Bond…through the wooden and paunchy Roger Moore, all the way to the new guy that nobody knows his name (and all in-between), James Bond is the poster boy for the stirred vodka martini.

I wonder what Bond would do though if there was something else out there besides shaken or stirred…what about simply, poured? 267 Spirits has devised what perhaps may be the ultimate cocktail. Vodka bottled with olives and pearl onions in the bottle. Doing so means that there is no need to “shake or stir” you cocktail…the flavored is infused into the alcohol.

The first thing you notice as you pour a glass on the rocks is the smell. It’s definitely a “surpriser.” I’m not sure what I thought the smell would be, but I’m thinking olives and onions would have to be a component. WRONG! The smell was actually a nice clean aroma…it actually had a fresh rainwater aspect to it…very pleasantly surprising indeed!

The taste is layered. You’ve got the crisp fresh rainwater combining with the desired saltiness of the olives in the initial taste. As it works it way through your mouth you get a smooth vodka taste…and finally a light tasting of the pearl onions. This cocktail has more layers than the CIA…truly worthy of a secret agent that has been licensed to kill!

The next time I order my beloved vodka martini, I’m going with poured and not shaken or stirred. I would definitely have to say that 267 Vodka Infusion Olives and Pearl Onions is Hooch…Killer Hooch!
